School Board Candidate Jenny Kluchar

Here we go again! So we had a great experience with Canton Local Schools this year with Ben! We started off pretty rocky and struggled most of the first 9 weeks, but he grew, he matured, he gave up fighting writing, and his entire team were impressed with his growth this year. That's the mark of an outstanding team! I am privileged to be a part of that team as Ben's Mom, but I'm now interested in serving the district. I declared my candidacy in Canfield when we lived there in July 2019. Now that we live in Canton South, I am interested in serving again on the school board, should the community choose to have me. I have 3 years experience on a Local School Board in Ohio, vetted and helped select 3 replacement Board members upon resignation, assisted in hiring a Superintendent, and supported the schools while navigating the first ever Pandemic in modern history. I love the public schools and will fight tirelessly to support them as they educate my child. Interested Party

I learned when I testified before the Ohio Senate Education Committee that everyone who wished to provide testimony was labeled one of three things: "proponent" [of the legislation], "opponent" or "interested party." When I testified for the House Budget Bill in 2018 (and served on a legislative committee in 2021), I was a proponent, but when the Senate wanted to amend HB154, I offered opponent testimony. Many people testifying before the Senate at any given hearing choose to be an "interested party" and don't declare themselves to be "for" or "against" the legislation. Disqualified

Sadly, I did not perform due diligence with my petition to get on the ballot. I allowed some people to print their name and didn't insist that they sign with their signature so a number of my names on my petition were disqualified. I had 23 recognized and registered voters' signatures and I needed 25. This is a lesson for me in precision. One I will learn from and try again in 2025. Please join me then.
